South Carolina March 6, 1776 L25 Choice Very Fine. A scarce issue in all but the most wretched of condition. We've handled only one previous L25 example and have sold only six notes from this issue in all denominations combined. This note is by far the finest of those. Only 5200 examples of this note were originally printed, and virtually all of the few survivors have pieces missing, tape repairs and other major problems due in equal part to the larger-than-normal size and the extremely weak paper. This piece is 100% intact, with no repairs of any kind and not so much as a tiny corner tip missing. All the signatures are clean and clear, and the note should find its way into an important Colonial collection.
