    Description

South Carolina February 8, 1779 $60 PMG About Uncirculated 53. A lovely example of this Coram note that was printed by Thomas Coram of Charleston, South Carolina. Well signed and numbered with the Latin motto "MUTUA DEFENSIO TUTISSIMA," which Newman translates as "Mutual defense is safest." There are three huge margins and the back features a lyre surrounded by horns, flags and vines. Nice AU notes of this series usually realize somewhere north of the $2,000 mark.
