    Description

South Carolina February 8, 1779 $50 PCGS Very Fine 35 Apparent.
The Apparent grade is for tape repaired splits, which are indeed present on the back. From the face, it is a well signed, well margined example with an overall pleasing appearance. The back bears the popular vignette of Atlas holding a boulder. The note was engraved by Thomas Coram of Charleston, who incorporated his name and the 1779 date in the engraving below Atlas's knee.
