    Rare is the only proper description for a note of this denomination with the rising sun vignette. Almost all of the examples that we see in the marketplace come from the first or lower denomination sheet, with the higher denominations rarely being encountered. Besides being Top Pop at both services, the note also bears the signature of Charles Pinckney, Jr. who was a signer of the United States Constitution, a Governor of South Carolina, a Senator, and a member of the House of Representatives. He was a first cousin once removed of fellow signer Charles Cotesworth Pinckney. The combination of this very popular signature and the note "finest known" status could bring about a realization reaching or exceeding...
