DescriptionSouth Carolina 1767 (Dates Handwritten) £20 PMG Good 6 Net.
When we last sold this note in January of 2009, we used the following description..."This is a rare one-note issue that was used to build both the Exchange and Customs House and the New Watch House. This number is unpriced in any grade in Friedberg and Newman only informs us of a VG that went for $3,737 in 2004. In fact, we cannot recall offering another extending all the way back to 1990. PMG also backs us up on the rarity factor by having graded only two of these with this example being the nicer. The Net grade is due to checking the top edge with a tape repair. This is a note missing from many South Carolina collections." At that time the note sold for $2,185. The PMG census remains the same with this Good 6 Net the "Top-Pop". With only two graded...the other one is a four.
