South Carolina November 15, 1775 3 Pounds Fr. SC-112 PCGS Apparent Very Fine 25.
The variety of emblems and use of a mixture of denomination-dependent sizes makes this an interesting South Carolina Colonial note series. This highest and rarest denomination from the series has a cannon vignette emblem at the lower right and the motto ULTIMA RATIO (The final reckoning). Noted only with some "Small Edge and Internal Splits." Evenly circulated and attractive. We originally sold this in our October 2015 Newman Part VII sale for $1,175. Underrated. A difficult type to locate in any grade and almost never seen so appealing.
