    Description

South Carolina February 8, 1779 $70 Choice Extremely Fine. This is one of the three denominations that were added later on in the issue. On these $50, $70 and $90 notes, Thomas Coram added his name on the engraved backs. It appears as "T. Coram Sc" immediately to the left of the ring that holds Prometheus's chained ankle. Both sides of the note are well centered. It's well signed and quite attractive. Boldly signed and perfect from the face with one small ink mark and a partial stamp hinge on the back.
