Rare SC 1775 £20 Promissory Note

South Carolina 97.1 £20 April-May 1775 Promissory Note PCGS Apparent Extremely Fine 45.
Rare enough to confuse our computer system, which will not recognize its Friedberg number. This is the only example that PCGS has graded, PMG has yet to see an example, if they do, it will be SC-97a. The only other example we know of was a Raw VF in Stacks May 2004 Sale, which realized $2,185. This note is simply spectacular. The apparent grade has been assigned for "Minor Ink Erosion," and save for that, the note is a well-margined, beautifully bright, perfectly signed About New. No South Carolina specialists can allow this note to get past him, as he will likely never have another chance.
