Sheet of Four Notes from April 10, 1778, South Carolina, SC-145, VF. This is an uncommonly encountered sheet of colonial currency from South Carolina. Most of the sheets that appear are usually seen from the later Rhode Island issues. This sheet is very well margined on all sides with the denominations 2s6d, 3s9d, 5s, and 10s seen. There are attractive vignettes seen as well with a cornucopiae, beaver, phoenix and palmetto present. This is considered a remainder sheet since a fully signed sheet would have multiple signatures and serial number present. This is a very valuable and desirable sheet in any condition found and one would expect to see spirited bidding before the hammer falls on this lot.
