    Description

Rhode Island May 1786 2s 6d PCGS Superb Gem New 68PPQ. An incredible grade for any Colonial note. PCGS has yet to issue a population report, but PMG has not graded any notes of this issue and denomination at this level, and only a single note from the entire issue has earned a 68. The note is hugely margined with wonderful originality and every feature one could hope to find on a note at this grade level. These are quite common up through 65, and a 68 is a challenge to estimate, but we would be quite surprised if this note did not reach or exceed...

‡ The owner placed a late bid on this unreserved lot and repurchased it, subject to applicable commission.
