Rare Rhode Island March 18, 1776 30 Shillings

Rhode Island March 18, 1776 30 Shillings Fr. RI-238 PCGS Extremely Fine 40.
Notes from this rare series of Rhode Island are usually encountered in lower grades and damaged. The issue is noteworthy for William Ellery, Signer of the Declaration of Independence, as one of the signatories. A high-grade note printed by John Carter with the imprint on the back. Crisp and well printed. Although two of the three signatures are blurry, Wanton's is sharp. There is a numerical annotation on the back at the bottom below the border. Only one other example was listed on Track & Price until this new, now-finest reported note.
    From the Hunter Collection.
