    Description

Rhode Island June 16, 1775 9d PCGS Apparent Very Fine 25.
As with many early Rhode Island notes, their extreme rarity remains unrecognized. This is number 98 of four thousand issued. It is the first example we have ever offered and is the only piece to have been graded by either service. The Apparent has been assigned for "Edge Splits and Tears; Mounting Remnant on Back." The mounting remnant is a small piece of paper on the back reinforcing the minor center split. The note has the appearance of a solid high-end very fine and its rarity cannot be over stated.
