    Possibly Unique January 1, 1761 6 Pence

Province of New Hampshire January 1, 1761 6 Pence Remainder Fr. NH-107. PCGS Very Fine 25 Apparent.
This January 1, 1761 six pence remainder is exceedingly rare and probably unique. It is the only note from the series we are aware of, the issue missing from even the Boyd combined collections. It is the Newman plate note in the 5th edition. This small format note printed on laid paper has ornamental patterns at the sides and top. At center is the obligation specifying payment in 2.5% interest bearing Bills of Exchange. The motto in the small cartouche is PAX BELLO POTIOR (Peace is preferable to war). This unnumbered and unsigned note faces up well considering the splits with back tape repairs noted as "Splits, Tears and Minor Damage; Tape Repairs." This debut offering at public auction presents a unique opportunity for serious New Hampshire specialists.

Truth Seeker: The Life of Eric P. Newman (softcover)
A powerful and intimidating dealer of the 1960s, backed by important colleagues, was accused of selling fraudulent gold coins and ingots to unsuspecting numismatists. Who would go up against a man like that and, over the course of decades, prove the fraud? Who would expose a widely respected scholar as a thief, then doggedly pursue recovery of coins that the scholar had stolen from an embarrassed numismatic organization, all over the objections of influential collectors who had bought coins with clouded titles? Eric P. Newman would - and did. Reserve your copy today.
