DescriptionPennsylvania March 20, 1773 6s PCGS Very Fine 25PPQ.
This example features the popular lighthouse design and is the plate "B" variety. Only 3000 of that variety were printed. £12,000 worth of notes were issued in support of the construction of the Cape Henlopen Lighthouse. Vessels were guided by the lighthouse through the dangerous waters between the Atlantic Ocean and Delaware Bay for over 150 years. The lighthouse was abandoned in 1924 and succumbed to the elements in 1926.
