Conditionally Rare "Bettering House" Note-Ex Newman

Pennsylvania March 10, 1769 5 Ss Fr. PA-142. PCGS Apparent Extremely Fine 45.
This is quite a striking looking former Newman collection note and vastly underrated in this grade. The eye appeal is tremendous on both sides and its well above the normal grade encountered. This series denomination was missing from the Boyd collection notes in the October 2006 Ford XV auction. The printing clarity on both sides by Hall and Sellers is superb and the nature print back is particularly well detailed. The noted "Minor Mounting Remnants on Back" are petty detriments on the farthest reaches of the corner tips; virtually invisible. This is one of the finest known examples of the type and may be the best looking. We first sold this in Newman Part VII for $881.25 in October 2015. That was a conservative realization considering its conditionally rare nature and beauty.
