Superb "Bettering House Money" 2 Shillings
Pennsylvania March 10, 1769 2 Shillings Fr. PA-140. PCGS Very Choice New 64 Apparent.Notes from this issue are known as "Bettering House Money." This is a strong grade note from a series where most average Good to Very Good, and are in frayed condition. A miracle of survival in this condition, with immaculate face surfaces. A uniface, vertical format note with obligation texts and the Penn family arms enclosed in ornamental borders, the top with a column running sideways. Noted are "Mounting Remnants on Back," and they are visible. However, what first strikes the eye is the deep black inking on wonderful surfaces. Undervalued in this stellar condition.
