Rare 9d Pennsylvania June 18,1764 Printed By Benjamin FranklinPennsylvania June 18, 1764 9d PCGS Choice New 63PPQ.
PCGS does not maintain a Colonial Population Report, but our experience tells us that only the 3d and 20 shilling denominations from this issue are generally seen. A quick look at the PMG Population Report confirms this. They have seen nineteen 3d notes and nineteen 20 shilling notes, but only a single 9d. This is a rare note in all grades and particularly so at this level. The only other example we have handled was a raw VG. Newman values this note at $4,000 at this grade level, but that is the same valuation that is placed on the massively more common 3d note.
