DescriptionPennsylvania June 18, 1764 20s PCGS Apparent About New 50.
Incredible grade for a higher denomination note from this issue, and one of the very finest we have seen. While relatively common in grades below Fine, it is extremely rare in this condition. The pence denominations are seen up through the uncirculated grades, but not so these larger size higher denomination notes. This piece, which is the highest denomination of the issue, is priced at $1500 in XF in the Newman book, with no higher grade listed. All three signatures remain bold. The Apparent grade is caused by minor edge restorations. PCGS also considered the signatures enhanced, althought we believe they are incorrect. In FUN 2014 we sold a PCGS 25 for $1997.
