Pennsylvania June 18, 1764 20s About New. The second high grade example we have of this note, but this one bears the very important George Clymer signature. Clymer was a signer of the Declaration of Independence from Pennsylvania, and his signature on Colonial currency is excessively rare. Added to that, he virtually always signed in red, and the red signatures were the quickest to fade being quite light sensitive. This note is signed in red but beautifully bold with every part of every letter as distinct as the day it was written. In 40 years of dealing in Colonial currency, we've seen only one other that rivaled this note.
