    Description

Pennsylvania July 1, 1757 20s PMG Very Fine 20 Net.
The net grade is for splits at either end of the centerfold. At this 20 level this is only five points below the highest graded at either service. In 2009, we sold a PMG 15 Net for $550, the highest denomination issued on this Franklin and Hall imprint series. An interesting "coin turn" alignment places the back imprint upside down in relation to the face. Newman mentions this anomaly stating "A few backs were inverted in error'". The Ben Franklin imprint remains strong. This example faces up nicely. PMG cites "Splits and Stains," but these are relatively minor compared to the overall appeal of this plate A type note.
