    Description

Pennsylvania December 8, 1775 30s PCGS Very Choice New 64.
A really difficult example from which to locate gems as evidenced by the combined grading service populations that show only four gems for this entire series (all 65's). This hugely margined example is bright and wonderfully printed with basically all the requirements to achieve the gem grade but for a slightly smaller top margin. The two higher denomination notes, 30s and 40s, are quite a bit more challenging to obtain in top grade. The last of either that we sold in "64PPQ" grade was a 40s note that realized $632.50 in 2011.
