    Description

    Pennsylvania April 3, 1772 1s PCGS Very Fine 30.
An exceptionally good looking note for the assigned 30 grade. The comment free holder mentions the John Morton signature. In this instance, it is extremely bold and clear. In our first Newman sale in 2015, an eighteen pence John Morton signed PCGS 20 sold for $1,645. In our 2015 Central States auction, a PCGS 30 two shilling with Morton's signature, realized $1,880. This is a very nice note in its own right and the John Morton signature is nothing short of perfection. Morton was a signer of the Declaration of Independence from Pennsylvania and also was a delegate to the Stamp Act Congress eleven years earlier in 1765.
