    Description

    Signed by John Morton

Pennsylvania April 3, 1772 18d New. There are a few aged spots at the bottom margin that cuts a bit into the design, but the highlight of this note is the large, dark John Morton signature. Morton was a signer of the Declaration of Independence and, to our best recollection, this is the nicest looking example of his signature that we've seen. This is the only issue that Morton signed and he was one of twenty-four authorized signers.
