Pennsylvania April 10, 1777 1s/6d with Ben Jacobs Signature Very Fine. This is a very pleasing circulated example of this more challenging type. The print quality is excellent and the original embossing is easily felt. What makes this note special is the bold red signature of Ben Jacobs. He was once thought to be the second Jewish signer of Continental Currency aside from Benjamin Levy but in recent years that theory has primarily been debunked. While we see Jacobs' signature much more frequently on Continental currency it is actually much more difficult to locate on Pennsylvania notes. A very pleasing example for the type or autograph collector.
