    Description

Jumbo Margins Pennsylvania April 10, 1775 £5 PMG Choice About Unc 58.
This is the scarcest of the 1770s Pennsylvania types, and the higher of the only two denominations in the issue. The Philadelphia City jail appears on the back in a well engraved, clear vignette. The issue was authorized to raise money for the construction of jails, and the Walnut Street Workhouse, as it was called, was selected for the vignette. Anyone who is a true connoisseur of Colonial Currency knows that notes from this issue are always seen with at least one tight margin. With the exception of some pithy corner handling this note would certainly be a solid four-figure gem and is worth far more than the $250 a typical AU would bring.
