    Description

John Morton Signature Pennsylvania April 3, 1772 1s PMG Fine 12. This note was signed by Sellers, Humphreys, and Morton. All three signatures remain clear. Morton's signature adds significantly to the value of this example as he was a signer of the Declaration of Independence. A marker at his birthplace reads in part, "As a delegate to the Continental Congress, his ballot, with that of Franklin, and James Wilson, committed Pennsylvania to the cause of independence by one vote." Morton's ballot is credited as the decisive vote for the delegation. David Hall and William Sellers were the printers. Plate letter A is seen on this note. PMG included a notation concerning a small hole.
