    North Carolina May 10, 1780 $500 Divitiae Reipublicae Dant Mihi Pretium PCGS Apparent About New 53.
    The motto on the note translates to "The Wealth of the Republic Gives Me Value." This is the Top Pop piece at PCGS and a super grade for a high denomination note from this issue. In 2010 at the FUN Auction, we sold a PMG AU for $1840. The Apparent grade has been assigned for the repair of a small edge tear at the top, which is incredibly minor, although present.
