    North Carolina May 10, 1780 $300 Aut Numquam Tentes Aut Perfice PCGS About New 50.
    A very handsome representative of the $300 denomination from this May 10, 1780 issue, with a Latin motto that translates as, "Either finish or never begin." It is a bright, well margined note with both signatures remaining visible. The italicized About New 50 grade was the result of minor restorations. PCGS has graded six examples and we have auctioned all but one of them. Of the five we have seen, this is the highest graded by ten points.
