DescriptionNorth Carolina March 9, 1754 20s PCGS Apparent About New 53.
The final several hundred pieces from the large North Carolina hoard that came out in the early 70s have been released on the market in the past decade. There were a larger than expected number of 1748 and 1754 notes in the group, but almost to a piece they were raggy and missing rather large portions of their design area. This is one of the very few examples that was virtually undamaged. As PCGS mentions, a repaired edge tear at the right is this note's only flaw. The vignette is razor sharp and all four signatures are clear and distinct. A very exceptional example of the issue.
