DescriptionNorth Carolina December, 1771 £5 PCGS Extremely Fine 45.
Although not a truly scarce note, this December 1771 £5 is the scarcest by far from this issue. An attractive note numbered 1257 of only 2000 notes printed. It has only the lightest indications of circulation and the I. ASHE stamp is seen on the back along with a few endorsements. John Ashe was the Treasurer of the Southern District of North Carolina.
