DescriptionNorth Carolina December, 1771 £1 Extremely Fine-About New
North Carolina December, 1771 30s About New.
The £1 note has a vignette of a crude bear that according to Newman represents the constellation Ursa Minor. It has sharp printing and margins that are all outside the frame line as well as four bright signatures, one in red. It has the I ASHE stamp on the back along with three endorsements. A vertical center fold, and edge fold and a diagonal fold are seen. The 30s note has a picture of a hand holding a falchion. Also sharply printed with margins all outside the frame and four signatures three of which are not as bright as the other note. Montfort's signature is seen on the back. One vertical fold is seen. A wonderful pair representative of the issue.
