    Description

North Carolina December 1768 5s Choice Very Fine. The first Five Shilling example of this issue that CAA has ever handled or this cataloger has ever seen in 40 years of dealing in Colonial Currency. The note is well margined and well signed, giving the appearance of a far higher grade. But it has been reconstructed along a previously sewn central split, leaving the pinholes where the thread had been. Nonetheless, this is a great-looking example of a significant rarity that could easily breech the four-figure mark.
