    Description

North Carolina August 8, 1778 $50 The Rising States PCGS Apparent Very Fine 35.
A quality example of this second to highest denomination on the issue, only the $100 being higher. Just 5,000 notes were issued, far fewer than most other denominations. This note has four full margins, both signatures, and a serial number in dark to light brown ink. An added signature is also seen on the right side of the verso. The printed text is fully readable. Holder incorrectly states $5 not $50 denomination and mentions restorations. A rare North Carolina, August 8, 1778, Fifty Dollar note which is missing in most collections.
