    North Carolina August 8, 1778 $40 Freedom of Speech and Liberty of the Press PMG Choice Extremely Fine 45 EPQ.
    This note realized $1600 when it was sold in the Fall of 2006. It's a clean, crisp XF at the very highest end of the XF grade. This variety carries the wonderfully patriotic motto, "Freedom of Speech and the Liberty of the Press." Well signed, with outstanding margins for the issue.
