North Carolina August 8, 1778 $100 Freedom or an Honorable Death PMG Very Good 10.
There were 2,500 $100s were printed for this issue with the motto Freedom, or an honourable Death. This was the largest denomination that was part of the emission. This example has spent time in circulation but has come out of the experience with only some normally expected and relatively minor edge wear and a short split at bottom center. The signatures are those of Jesse Cobb and Joseph Armitage. Rare with only a handful of examples known, including three in the PMG Population Report.

    Estimate: $275 - up.
