    The Act of August 8, 1778 authorized £850,000 ($2,125,000) in legal tender Bills of Credit payable in Spanish milled dollars. Denominations ranged from $1/8 to $100 with 100,000 of the $1/8 denomination being printed for the issue. This design bears the slogan Union of Hearts the Strength of Interest and is boldly printed on bright paper with ample margins (the right margin being a bit tight).
