Description

North Carolina August 21, 1775 $4 PCGS Apparent Extremely Fine 40.
This note is from one of the most elusive issues of Colonial Currency. The Friedberg catalog prices only the $1/4 from this issue, and refers to all the other denominations as very rare in all grades. The note has a few minor edge splits and tiny pinholes, but it is well margined, boldly signed and faces-up beautifully. The Masonic symbol at the lower left is clean, sharp and with all its varied elements crystal clear. This is likely one of the nicest, if not the nicest example known, and it should certainly move far past its previous level. The Apparent grade is due to repaired splits and tears.
