    Description

North Carolina April 4, 1748 £3 Good, backed. This is a tough example to grade as the technical grade is probably much better, but there are a couple of contemporary pins used to hold the backing on. Closer inspection reveals a note that has been backed twice and endorsements are found on both added backings and on the back of the original note. This is the highest denomination of the 1748 issue. The vignette is of Fort Johnson and the Union Jack. There will be no returns on this lot for any reason.
