Printed on watermarked paper, this issue was pursuant to the Act of April 4, 1748 which provided for the redemption of the bills at 7 1/2 in old bills for 1 in new. This note is signed by Eleazer Allen, Edward Moseley, John Starkey and Samuel Swann. The left margin has an ornate design and most of the text is in script lettering. A vignette of a crowned lion is seen at left. The back has a number of calculations on it. This is our first opportunity to auction a note of this number and it is the plate note of the Newman Catalog on Early American Paper Money.
