North Carolina April 4, 1748 6s PCGS Very Good 10.
Top Pop at both services. PCGS has graded only this example and PMG has graded two, with those two examples in lower grades than the example offered in this lot. As is often the case with Colonial notes, fewer of the lower denominations have survived as opposed to the higher denominations. This six shillings note features an attractive Fleur de Lys emblem. PCGS lists the reasons for the italic grade as, "Splits, Tears, Damage, and Repairs; Pieces Missing; Backed." A rarely encountered piece of early North Carolina numismatic history.
