North Carolina April 4, 1748 15 Shillings Rampant Lion Fr. NC-66 PCGS Apparent Fine 15.
With hatching providing depth to the engraving, a rampant lion serves as the emblem for this denomination. Although faint, four signatures are still visible on the note. A small portion of the indenting scrollwork is seen at the left. PCGS cites "Edge Damage and Splits" and states that it is "Backed." A considerable amount of endorsements appear on the back. Ex: Stack's Bowers, 2017 ANA sale, part of lot 11012.
    From The Mike Coltrane Collection.
