    Description

North Carolina April 4, 1748 10 Shillings Horse Fr. NC-65 PCGS Apparent Fine 15.
The charming engraving of a rearing horse is barely confined by the circle at lower left. Scrollwork comprises the indenting design. Endorsements are on the back. The Newman Collection example of this "Horse" emblem type was extremely low grade and backed. Though this has faults, its overall eye-appeal is more than acceptable. PCGS notes "Tape Repairs; Edge Damage." Ex: Stack's Bowers, 2017 ANA sale, part of lot 11012.
    From The Mike Coltrane Collection.
