    Description

North Carolina April 2, 1776 $8 Leopard PCGS Apparent Very Fine 30.
"An absolutely lovely example of this Leopard vignette note from one of the most fascinating series in all of Colonial currency. The detail is that of a strong Very Fine that borders on the Extremely Fine grade. There are some edge tears but they are not distracting and do little to infringe upon the appeal of this boldly printed example. The comprehensive Midnight Ride example graded PMG VF 35 Net which seems very similar in appearance to this note. That example sold for $460 on that day and we would not be surprised to see that mark surpassed tonight." This was our description when we first sold this note raw for $345 over a decade ago. It has a repaired center split and small edge tears at right. Penned ink is found on the back label.
