    Description

North Carolina April 2, 1776 $1 Scroll with White Letters Fr. NC-157e PMG Very Good 8.
Another interesting example of the second Scroll variety with the white lettering on black. The scroll vignette is blurry due to light inking or printing from a worn plate. The previous note has much sharper definition. Cited as "Repaired, Backed" by PMG. Trimmed all around the perimeter. Ex: our 2018 Long Beach sale, lot 20216, where it realized $810; Thomas A. Gray Collection of North Carolina Colonial Currency.
    From The Mike Coltrane Collection.
