    Description

North Carolina April 2, 1776 $1/8 Snake Biting Sword in Scabbard Fr. NC-154g PMG Very Fine 20.
Another rarely seen type. It is sharp-looking overall. The complex image of a snake biting a scabbard that contains a sword appears on this type. PMG notes "Restoration." Nicely inked and well margined. Ex: our 2018 Long Beach sale, lot 20194, where it realized $1,020; Thomas A. Gray Collection of North Carolina Colonial Currency. A pleasing example.
    From The Mike Coltrane Collection.
