    Description

North Carolina April 2, 1776 $1/8 Lion PCGS Very Fine 25.
PCGS has graded the note 25 Italic for restorations. The main one of which is at the top, to the left of center. This $1/8 dollar note with its lion vignette is the second lowest denomination in this extensive series. There are 56 separate varieties, most all with animal or sea life vignettes. A few complete sets have been assembled over the years, but the low denomination notes are invariably also in very low grade. This piece, in spite of its restoration, is way better than most of this denomination and the lion vignette is arguably the most popular of the eight different designs of this denomination.
