DescriptionNorth Carolina April 2, 1776 $1/2 Hunter, Dog and Target PCGS Apparent About New 53.
Extremely rare in this grade and by far the finest example we've handled. PCGS has assigned the apparent grade for small edge splits. There are only two and they are indeed small, barely reaching the frame line. The brown signature is bold, the red signature somewhat less so, but still legible. We've sold others of this note in low grade, but never before noticed what appears to be the hunter's target along the far right frame line. If a finer example exists, we are unaware of it. PMG does not break these out by variety, but they have not graded any $1/2 from the April 2, 1776 issue above the 30 grade.
