DescriptionNorth Carolina 1756 - 1757 (written dates) £5 PCGS Apparent Very Fine 30.
The variety with the word "Payment" not hyphenated, these notes paid interest and were receivable for taxes. Actually a very high grade for this issue that is rare in any two digit grade. Most all known examples are tattered, this one does have some repaired splits and tears as mentioned by PCGS, but it is extraordinarily well margined, with all of the ornamentation present and every letter of every word of the text clean and clear. The note is hand dated Dec. 15, 1757 and multiply endorsed on its blank back.
