Colonial Counterfeiting News - Boston Chronicle Feb. 22-29, 1768 Vol. L No. II Pages 93-100.
General news and happenings are relayed by this visitor from the past. On the second column of page 98 under the "New-York, Feb. 15" byline, is the news of five persons apprehended on suspicion of counterfeiting on board a small schooner. They had in their possession counterfeits of the New York 1760 £2 notes, two plates for North Carolina money, and molds and stamps for Spanish dollars and pistareens. The newspaper is held in a modern document holder with a bookplate. This slides within a slip case of the highest quality.
