North Carolina Samuel Stots, Salem October 22, 1803 2d PMG About Uncirculated 53.
Although not mentioned on the note, most researchers believe that this was issued by, or for the benefit of, the Moravian Church in Salem. Samuel Stots was quite active in the church before his death in 1820. We are aware of one uncut sheet of signed notes with Stots' signature, but this note is not from that sheet based on the position of the date. In any case this is a nice, darkly printed example with strong penned information, on great paper, that would make a nice companion post-colonial era issue for any North Carolina collection.
